I love this place for the food, for the service and for the honesty of these people. I am a regular of this restaurant and I spoke several times with the staff and the management team and i find them all super. In Brisbane there are many restaurants but i prefer black fire for their food and their moderate prices. the service is very good, they always make you feel comfortable and I noticed that they always smiling.

We chose the banquet meal. Which featured 3x starters and 2x mains for $69.The food was amazing! (The photos really don’t do it justice)Range of drinks good, and the ambiance relaxed, but the staff were attentive and friendly! Would love to visit again and try individual meals or even the banquets again.

Throughout the evening we were hoping our experience would get better, especially with the recent reviews on Black Fire we had read. We were anticipating a dish was coming and it would blow our minds away. Overall it was an underwhelming dining experience. The dishes were presented on small slate plates and our food fell off onto the table when the waiting staff placed them on our table. Main course was arriving and it was a little comical how our fresh cutlery were placed (see photos). The ‘hand cut fresh local sweet potato chips’ looked very McCains and tasted average. The chef was not accommodating to our food allergies & intolerance, let’s just said the seasonal leaves salad was not by choice. One star to the bartender who was full of joy when servicing drinks, another star for the prosciutto, fresh bread and olive oil balsamic dish – best dish of the evening!

I visited the restaurant on a Tuesday evening and the first thing I noticed was that the decor tries to invoke a Spanish vibe. Spain historically is very multi cultured and regional. Catalonia and the Basque Country want to be independent; Andalusia in the South is distinct for oranges and Valencia’s tapas. And not to forget the Sierra Nevada. The interior design hasn’t kept the metaphor to be honest with any of Spain’s regions but to me was rather a bit of a mix and match. This was reflected in the menu and wine list. Fuego Nero associates with coal fire and grills yet no central display of such. The menu was not dedicated to dishes prepared with this method either. I was looking out for my mains: a seafood risotto (Italian btw). Unfortunately, to me it was neither a risotto or a paella (Spanish). The Albariño was pleasant and fairly priced. All in all I think this restaurant has great potential and I hope that it will focus on authentic Spanish dishes only with a complete Spanish wine list to match. Otherwise it will be more of a touristy, quasi Spanish place to eat.

Throwback to our dinner on 11 June in Brisbane at Black Fire ✨We got:🍹 Long Island & Strawberry Cocktail🥩 Wagyu Short Ribs with Chipotle Sauce on the sideDelicious, tender, fall-apart ribs with great glaze. Chipotle sauce added a nice kick.🥩 Black Angus Rib Eye with Beef jusPerfectly cooked steak, lovely char and nicely seasoned.*Both meals included sides, we chose roasted potatoes and seasonal leaves with mustard vinaigrette which paired perfectly with the meat.Although the food was great, the service wasn’t on par. Our waiter was friendly when we caught his attention at the start, but it was so hard to call anyone after even just to get a cup of water while the restaurant was pretty quiet. It almost seemed like the waiters were avoiding contacts 😅We also caught a bad table placement where we were close to outside window, and we didn’t know there was a wind gap so our steaks got cold in a matter of minutes and the fat on it congealed 😰Overall, it was still a good experience and the meat was yum. So if you’re in brissy looking for some nice grilled meat, come by this place and make sure to sit somewhere close to the inside and near the waiters haha 😂
