Very nice to visit the lovely gardens, the goldfish are enormous. Some areas of the garden are fenced off possibly for repair or upgrade. We turned up while they were setting up for the harvest moon festival. Kids enjoyed sitting and watching the goldfish swim up to them. Will have to come back once fully opened up. Good place to bring a young family.

Small area but great if you want to know more about the history of Chinese diggers and migrants. As much as I find it interesting, young children may find it boring. The small Chinese garden outside is beautiful too. Note: due to shortage of stuff, the museum may close early, so it’s better to be there early than late!Visited on

The world’s largest Chinese dragon resides here. The introduction flyer about the Chinese people in Bendigo during the 19th century is very well written and informative. There are quite a lot of items in this museum but they have not been displayed nor labeled to their best advantage unfortunately especially given what they charge for entry.

We came at a bad time. They were doing renovation’s and updating painting’s. So sadly we didn’t see the best of the garden’s. However I found the Museum indoors very interesting.Visited on

Fantastic place and good customer service…wealth of information of settlement of Chinese people and their influence in the society during the Gold rush in Bendigo…The contributions by the Early Settlers of Chinese people in Australia cannot be considered any less as they also have played an important part in contributing prosperity to people in Victoria during the gold rush
