I had a fantastic experience here. Best bibimbap in Cairns. The curry was super good too and the staff were great. I really liked that the restaurant was not too loud – music volume was low so you can have a conversation. 🙂 Korean and Japanese was a great combo

The food here was great minus the vegetable pancake as it was under done. Spicy beef soup was definitely spicy but very flavoursome. Sweet chilli chicken had by my husband was amazing not dry with heaps flavour.Staff super friendly and fast service

Goong serves a mixture of Korean and Japanese cuisine. The kimchi jeon was tasty and we also ordered a gyoza bento and beef bibimbap. All the food was good but not incredible. The kaarage was on the dry side and the gyoza was a bit soggy. The outdoor area at the back was a bit dark, I would’ve preferred to sit inside but they were booked out.

The tempura prawn was absolutely perfectly cooked, and tender, and the crispy chicken katsu that went with it was very tastyThis doesn’t look like much from the outside, and there’s not really an ambience, but if you rate a place on its food and friendliness, then you’ll like this place

I’ve traveled to Korea and also eaten Korean food in K-town LA and on 32nd Street. I have high standards for K-food. Bjt I can say with confidence that compared to the typical Korean food you find outside of Korea, this is pretty good and authentic! Sashimi was decent too. I recommend the makkeoli rice wine.
