Lotus has a very modern take on Chinese cuisine. The vegetable and jade prawn dumplings were delicious. We also ordered the duck fried rice and it was incredible, never had duck in fried rice before but will now be coming back for more in the future. The beef short ribs were so tender and juicy, the sauce perfectly complemented the meat. The chilli oil they provided was very rich with flavour and added the perfect amount of spice to every dish. Highly recommend this spot if you’re visiting The Galeries

This was just a spectacular night from start to finish. We were warmly welcomed by the owner with the right amount of humour and professionalism and ushered to a table within minutes. We had chosen a set 7 course menu and a bottle of champagne. The drinks were to us within minutes and we were able to proceed with our night. The food was sensational, well cooked, a great fusion of tastes, and the timing of delivery was impeccable. The staff service was excellent, not forced or rushed and sensitive to our conversation. All in all, this was an amazing night. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone dining really, regardless of the occasion

Always blown away by Lotus and their modern take on Chinese cuisine. Their fried rice is among the best I’ve had, it’s not oily, smokey, and the rice grain are nicely separated and chewy. The lamb dish is amazing too, it’s definitely grilled to perfection; super tender, a little bit sweet and tangy. It’s a little bit pricey but they use good quality ingredients. A tip from me is to use the Liven app and you can get discount.

Stark industrial space punctuated by spot lighting, minimal art and tropical greenery. Wooden bistro tabletops and bistro chairs, comfortable cushioned banquettes against the walls. Tall windows near George Street and facing the atrium in the Galleries provide daylight to those trying to reset circadian rhythms and jet lag.Vegan and gluten free options as well as premium wagyu beef.Beautiful tableware and friendly service.Large drinks list featuring local gin, lots of sparkling wines by the glass and exotic cocktails. Jasmine tea was high quality.Vegetable dumplings were piping hot and very tasty, a combination of mushrooms and spring onions in a rice wrapper. Soy, red vinegar and a chili oil that tasted like it had a hint of garlic accompanied.Crispy eggplant with honey soy and sesame came garnished with cilantro and slivered red chili. 8 perfectly crunchy two-bite beignets of melting aubergine in a not too sweet sauce. A very popular dish to share between 2 or as an appetizer for 4. The crunchy Brussels sprouts looked very good. I will try them next visit!Petite shallot (scallion) pancakes were a divine treat. Crispy outside, fluffy/chewy inside. They had no ‘V’ on the menu, so I assume they were made the traditional way with lard. This vegetarian doesn’t always ask, especially not for black bean soup, and scallion pancakes. The crowd was mostly office suits and dresses, with about a third in jeans, sneakers (trainers). About half the crowd was Asian giving some street cred. I was very impressed by the presentation of the dishes, and the attentive but not intrusive service. Portions were easily shareable – the rice and noodles could serve 4-6. I noticed glasses being refilled, and empty dishes removed after asking. Delightful meal, and it would be a great place for a romantic dinner!

I love the stir vegetables are so light taste and not like other restaurants that salty and oily. All the dishes we ordered are so good. Steam fish are great. The Beijing duck are the best I ever had in Sydney. Only comment is the pancake of the Beijing duck is average, if the pancake can be more thinner it would be 100 good. Definitely will come back again

We did a team building exercise, making dumplings and it was the best! The instructor (Steve) was excellent and we learned how to make spring rolls and dumplings and got an apron, recipes and gifts. If you’re looking for something well run and fun for the team, you can’t go past Lotus The Galeries.
