It’s one of the top notch Indian restaurants in sydney, a must visit place to feel authentic south Indian taste.I orderMasala doseGarlic n Pepper soupThe taste of the soup is awesome 😋 and pepper spicy and garlic taste I can really feel. It’s a great place to dine in with family as the atmosphere is so good.Service is nice, they are very polite. The price is decent compared to the Harris park Indian restaurants and it’s worth it to pay.It opens at 12pm, I visited this place at 1pm. There is a decent crowd in the restaurant.

We had the seafood banquet for 8 people. The service was very good and all the food was fantastic. The prawn starter was very tasty and the dosa was nice and crisp. All the mains were very good. In particular the fish and chicken were great. Definitely the best Indian meal I have had in years.

Great setup. Had a very fine dining feel for a curry house. The vegetable samosas were basically a French onion soup pastry – rather disappointing – the garlic and cheese naan (though needing more garlic for my own palate) made up for it, and the fish curry – ling in this case – was excellent. I also grabbed a beef vindaloo takeaway to have tonight, so I can check out how they do on the heat factor. For the record, service was impeccable. Happy to return for that alone – will just pick a different starter!

We visited during our recent trip to Sydney. Saw the reviews online and decided to give it try. So we ordered lamb rogan josh ,chicken chittnad with roti’s and rice. The lamb on bone was cooked perfectly but lack the flavours. Chicken chittnad was over cooked and was very chewy. The place is very pricey compared to portion size and taste. Cucumber salad had no cucumber inside and portion size was a joke.

We visited Malabar Restaurant with high hopes for their South Indian fare and they completely exceeded our expectations. We went with the (Mellagu) Tiger prawns and a simple samosa for starters. The prawns were beautifully cooked with peppercorns – giving us the hint of pepper while still being soft on our palate. The samosa was reminiscent of the onion Samosas famous in Chennai. We were tempted with the Kerala fried chicken being served to the next table and immediately ordered one for us. It was everything we needed for that raining evening. (On hindsight, we would have loved to have that with some chai). For the main course we opted for Goat Mappas and Chicken Chettinad with their Kerala Parotta. The dishes were rich and outstanding and was a quintessential South Indian fare. They serve the softest, flakiest Malabar Parottas in Sydney! It’s one of those places serving authentic South Indian food – which the South Indian in me thoroughly relished, while also offering a burst of flavours to suit the local palate. I’m definitely going back there!

Had a delightful dinner at Malabar! I was very much looking forward to coming to Malabar as I had heard excellent things from friends on numerous occasions. The service was excellent! The servers were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the dishes on the menu. The food was also super delish! To start we had dipping sauces and pappadums which were great and got me excited for the dishes to come! For mains we had the daal Makhani, the prawn Konkan curry, and the butter chicken. We enjoyed these with rice, garlic naan, and Peshwari naan. I was most excited for the prawn Konkan curry but it ended up being my least favourite (despite still being good). The highlight for me was the Peshwari naan.My only regret is that we didn’t leave enough room for dessert! For that reason its probably better to come to Malabar with a big group so you can have a taste of a wider range of dishes!

We had a great time having lunch here. The service was great. I don’t really eat Indian food but they do taste quite nice here.Although they do have various alcohol but I don’t drink. And the mango smoothie is amazing. Definitely recommend it.Overall a good experience here.
