Second time visiting for a weekend lunch:✅Mee goreng, $18 – spicy wok-tossed hokkien noodles with eggs, prawns, fish cake slices and fresh bean sprouts💬Quite enjoyed this dish, with a nice infusion of wok charring flavour, complemented by the punch of spiciness. The noodles also had a good bite to them.✅Nasi lemak, $13 + 1pc fried chicken $5 – fragrant coconut rice accompanied by an ensemble of sambal, peanuts, crispy anchovies, cucumber and hard boiled egg | ayam goreng – Malaysian-style fried chicken, marinated with herbs and spices and full of flavour💬Wifey’s choice. Probably not the best value nasi lemak around, but taste wise pretty reasonable. Wished the chicken were a more generous size for $5, though still cheaper than a single piece a la carte which is $6.✅Roti canai, $10 – served with with dhal, curry sauce, and spicy sambal sauce💬This was $9 the last time I visited a few months ago. Still cheaper than some other vendors and fully hits the spot.Overall a pretty solid feed. There was no queue when we arrived just after 12pm on a Saturday, and I’d estimate the restaurant to be between 50-75% full at the time. Service was pretty quick with all our food hitting the table within 10 minutes of ordering. Total $46 less 10% cash payment = $41.40, though I subsequently found out they’re also now on Liven which could have earnt me 15% rewards (plus there are Foodollars available with up to 40% bonus value) – will use that next time.Previously visit for a weeknight dinner in May:* roti tisu, $14 – paper thin, extra crispy and served tall* roti canai, $9 – served with two curry dips and spicy sambal sauce* chicken satay ½ dozen, $15* ayam goreng, 2pc $10Some thoughts on the meal:- all food was freshly cooked and came hot to the table- both rotis were pretty good – I liked that the roti canai came with multiple dips/sauces, and the tisu came only when requested (+ 5-10min wait to make) towards end of meal- the roti tisu is legit thin and crispy, just like how I remember the first one I had in Malaysian many moons ago (and quite unlike the previous one I had from another roti establishment earlier this year)- chicken satays were great – that satay sauce was👌- would have liked the ayam goreng to be more heavily seasoned but still nice crunch on the skin and you could see steam coming out when we cut into it. I combined it with some of the leftover satay sauce for peak happiness- overall quite happy with what we ordered. Total came out to under $11 per head after 10% cash payment discount, which was decent for a light meal (we were having part 2 of dinner elsewhere)

Tried this for the first time and we were pleasantly surprised! Food presentation was really well done. Everything was freshly prepared. Roti Canai and Nasi Goreng were great. Ayam Goreng fried chicken was really impressive. It’s spicy but so tender you have to try it. Place got really busy just after opening time so be prepared to wait for a table if you’re late. 10% surcharge on Sunday but 10% cash discount. Highly recommended.

AUTHENTIC MALAYSIAN CUISINEMamak has outlets in various cities across Australia- all with rhe same offering of typically Malaysian dishes. Its a very casual eatery where you order via the yum app. It’s a very noisy Cafe due to tight table placement and hard concrete surfaces.People with mobility issues will struggle a little here due to tight spacing and narrow walkway.Menu items cone out from the kitchen fairly randomly rather than your whole order arriving at the one time.Vegetarian options: You have a few selections if vegetarian but most dishes are meat basedKid-friendliness: Nor really the kind of place to take kids.. squishy tables, noisy and not fast service Parking: Parking is bad as it’s right in the city centreWheelchair accessibility: People in wheelchairs would really struggle here as the tables are packed in very tightlyDietary restrictions: You order via an app so it’s actually difficult to determine whether menu items are free from specific allergens

Another nice place to have lunch in the CBD with modern decor and friendly staff. I had to wait a while for my food and my friends had nearly finished theirs by the time mine arrived. It was a little noisy and the place smelt spicy. The food tasted good 👍. A fun place to dine at 🙂

Been going to Mamak in Sydney for years, so when Mamak finally came to Brisbane, I was overjoyed 😁Had the mee goreng + sunny side up fried egg (runny yolk), maggi goreng, chicken satay (served with fresh cucumber and red onion), roti tisu, roti canai and roti telur (served with curry and dhal curry) and teh tarik. All delicious and authentic. Especially loveee the satay sauce! 😍Nasi goreng was just okay, not my personal favourite. The rojak was a bit too sweet and expensive. Cendol was too sweet as well but Ais Kacang was good! 🍨10% discount if you pay by cash and order at the counter 😉 Otherwise, order and pay via app by scanning the barcode shown on your table. The store is modern, bright with cool interior and the staff are friendly and helpful. Expect a bit of a wait, considering they just opened.

Had dinner and ordered Roti Canai, Rojak, Nasi Goreng which popular in menu.Roti was okay and nasi goreng taste like frozen ingredients as a frozen take away food. Salad was don’t know what taste like.

Price ⭐️⭐️⭐️Environment ⭐️⭐️⭐️Taste ⭐️Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Seriously disappointed throughout the whole dining experience here. As a Malaysian, I can only comment that these 3 dishes I ordered as shown taste 0% like Malaysian Nasi Lemak, Kankung Balacan and Ayam Goreng. At most 98% look like Malaysian cuisine but definitely not the taste. If you are Malaysian, you will definitely agree with me.Sambal too much anchovy flavour.Nasi Lemak having too much ginger flavour.Ayam Goreng……… I ordered chicken thigh but dry like chicken breast 🤦🏻♂️Any Mamak’s Ayam Goreng in Malaysia is crispy, tender and juicy when you order it.I also ordered the Teh O Ais Limau. Abang who made the drink, just wanna let you know that it is too sweet. The only thing probably deserve 2 ⭐️ is just the overall service and not that expensive given that it is in the CBD.
