The best Chinese food I have had in decades. Forget the tired take away food you imagine, the new owners and team have created an amazing dining experience in Geelong. Old favourites are elevated (sesame prawn toast that was fluffy and not greasy at all) and delicious specials like Mud crab and Singapore Chilli prawns blew me away. Plenty of beef, chicken and veg options too. I have been a few times now, with and without the kids and the service and food has been brilliant each time. Great wine and cocktail list and the decor all combines to make this outstanding, can’t wait to try the yum cha. Also glad there is now an elegant and delicious dining option to pair up with a film at the Pivotonian (another Geelong gem).

I’ve been going to man bo for some time now and had a wonderful lunch there the other day. The new owners are kicking goals w some tweaks to the menu leading to a smaller but more more focused selection. The plates are tastier, and more complex which for me justifies the slight increases in some prices. The staff were very kind and efficient. Tidy little cocktail list and plenty of wines to suit all palates. Can’t wait to come back and try the dim sum one day soon. Keep it up team!

Was looking for Chinese food after a few days on the Great Ocean food. Enjoyed a few simple dishes of veg, hot plate tofu with crab meat and steamed fish. Taste was good, not salty. Service excellent. Good enough to feel like home.

Attended Man Bo on Thursday night.Very happy with the food, wine and staff. The menu has a mix of new dishes and classics, the favourites for us being the prawn toast, quail and smashed cucumber. The “small” fried rice was easily enough for two and was delicious with what appeared to be quality ingredients. The service was prompt and food delivered in a timely manner.Rebecca was a friendly staff member who was most attentive and knew the food well.Will definitely be back to try different menu items.

I had such an amazing experience at Man Bo last week.. The food was delicious, new wine menu was spot on and the vibe was pumping. Shout of to Mia behind those incredible cocktails… worth the sore head! Will be back again next week!

Bought take away. Too much batter on the lemon chicken. Flavours were all different in all our dishes. Increased the price of some dramtically and changed the flavours of others. Different management makes a big difference. I think an icon of Geelong is on the wane. I won’t be coming back. Actually when I picked up the take away order the staff at the front counter were complaining about the new owners attitude and behaviours. It was actually very funny. They didn’t want to tell him anything because he couldn’t control his temper. I think this place will be sold again soon. Won’t be eating here again until it returns to its previous glory. Like I said it used to be an icon. Over to you new owner! Tell me you are happy to never see me again.
