I think I died and went to Moroccan food heaven. The chef took great care and pride in the dishes he made. Each dish was layered with different taste sensations and cooked to perfection. What a pleasant and exciting experience. Generous portions and fresh quality ingredients. We will definitely be back to try out the rest of the menu. So good.
It’s been a delicious discovery! The food was amazing! Very tasty, full of different flavours! Big plates for a good price! I would recommend it to everyone and I would like to come back to have dinner and try other dishes! Very friendly staff as well! Good opportunity to try some specialties from other country!
Fantastic experience at this restaurant. The food was all delicious (our tables favourite was the paella – the seafood flavour was nice and robust and it was served up in the pan it was cooked in, so it had the delicious caramelised bits at the bottom). We were also really impressed by the service. The young guy who served us was such a polite and friendly person. We were all very impressed with his skill at serving all of the tables promptly and with a smile, despite the fact that so many new tables all arrived at once. The owner is very lucky to have found such a great staff member. We will be back next time we are in town!
The young fellow serving had a really nice smile and was quite good at his job. Soft spoken and very friendly. Recommended good food and was very pleasant to deal with. The lamb was excellent and the chicken dish was also really good. The flavors and aroma of the meals were what you would expect from the middle East.Great food. Very good service and as a bonus, very reasonable pricing. Enjoy!
What an amazing experience. The food was sooooo delicious. The lamb was tender and positively melted in your mouth. The garlic prawn had so many layers of flavour. The fine young man who served us was very efficient. Despite a busy night, he remained calm and gave everyone a warm greeting. Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu.
I was expecting a delicious and flavourful dinner but instead got a mild and disappointing one.Coming from a multi-cultural and international background, I have tried numerous paellas and they have never failed to impress me. The choice of paella is often the safest one for an experience of flavour. Or so I thought until I tried this paella. It was 1) soggy and mushy exactly like a risotto, which it should not be, 2) distinctly lacked in flavour (what happened to the saffron?), 3) had too much rice and not enough seafood. I was particularly disappointed in this dish as paellas are a personal favourite of mine. While I can’t comment much on the flavours of the lamb tajine as I am unfamiliar with authentic lamb tajines, it lacked in flavours from spices in general as a dish. Flavours aside, instead of being tender and moist, the inside of the lamb chunks was dry and crumbly, almost a chalky texture likely from overcooking. Given that lamb is probably the meat that’s most prone to overcooking, it takes skill to achieve that tenderness properly. With the entrées, my table had the chicken bastilla cigars and the beef/lamb version of it (can’t remember the name of the dish). The chicken one also lacked in flavour. The beef/lamb one was only slightly better in comparison. The saving grace of the restaurant is the wait staff. Our table had a lovely young lady who was friendly and ensured we were tended to.Keep in mind that this is based on a single experience and it could have just been a bad night. Also, food is subjective and perhaps this is catered to the local taste. I sincerely hope the restaurant is open to feedback, whether positive or negative. It’s always pleasant to listen to yes-mans and hard to hear negative feedback. All the best.
We had an absolutely lovely and tasty dinner at Marrakech. It is rare to find a place that serves delicious Moroccan food in Australia! We would highly recommend the beautiful tajine and the paella. Thank you for a great meal and the chance to travel. 😊
