Came here for lunch and got the burger and the knuckle sandwich and the chips. The knuckle sandwich was so good and so was the pork belly burger. However, the chips weren’t that great. Needed more seasoning and wasn’t that crispy. Would recommend to anyone in Bendigo to stop by and try this place.

Great selection of drinks including Belgian beers. Had a balcony perfect for dinner or drinks where you can overlook the Bendigo CBD and towards Rosalind Park. A hidden gem of Bendigo.

Tageskarte 3.5 starsWe needed a coffee before visiting the local art gallery and after going for a little walk there were no cafes opened on Sunday or at 9am that we could find.  We stumbled in here was excited to grab a coffee, which were inconsistent. Interesting decor and the breakfast offer we has were pretzels, they were ok a little small in size though.

I’m going to try and be very fair with my review here, but honestly the experience was extremely disappointing and left us all feeling cheated.Booked for 10 people and were encouraged to get the banquet (which was $45 per head) however it was the worst value for money we’ve had when dining out. Honestly thought they were having a lend.Despite paying per head- we didn’t actually receive enough of each item to have a half portion, let alone one item each. We received six sausages in total (three of the beef, three of the pork). So we had to cut them in thirds so everyone could try a piece. There was only two pork knuckles, despite there being ten of us! Even the three types of schnitzel we received, there was roughly 6 strips so they also had to be cut in half also. Three meatballs, and three croquettes. How is this a “per head” serving? If there was one less person, what would they get different? Not to mention the sides that will “fill your crevices” (as said on the menu) was realistically better suited for 3-4 people. Two sides of mashed potato, two sides of coleslaw and one bowl of greens. Who gives one bowl of anything to ten people? They were just regular sized pasta bowls.When asked if that was all that was included, we were told we could buy more sides. We had already spent $450 on food alone by choosing the banquet option. Our total bill once drinks were included was >$600.Whilst none of us will be returning, the food we received was cooked well and did taste nice. The banquet was just incredibly bad value. Definitely would not recommend.

3.5 STARS. The place was quite mix matched but worked, the decor was German themed with contemporary modern music. Is it weird that I was waiting for some German music added in the mix? 🙂 The pretzel was ok. Some of the coffees were just right, others were a little weaker. Will definitely need to go back to absorb more of the atmosphere.

What a gorgeous little place the cafe is, and upstairs the beer hall is an architectural delight though I haven’t eaten or drunk there. The coffee and cake at the cafe are delicious, and the staff are caring, intelligent and very experienced. Really outstanding for Bendigo
