The restaurant has great vibes and feels like you’re in Japan.Service was great, everything came out quickly.Food was well presented and tasted great. We had the fish soup, salmon belly sashimi, which was yum and fresh.Overall, the food was awesome.. I don’t know why their rating is 3.8 on Google maps, but from reading the comments most come from a NYE dinner.

Very disappointed.We dined on Valentine’s Day and there was a Valentine’s Day menu but super limited options. The food is average, the portion is not much, but quite expensive.The attitude of the service staff is good, but I feel that there are not enough staff. We waited for a long time to find the waiter to order food.But the environment and the view are beautiful.

Fantastic decoration, view and location. Some nice and well presented food but seem to run out of lots of dishes on early Friday night. Friendly services but seem to be struggling with menu and billing system. Price is fair for location and quality of food but had to pay twice because the billing system forgotten a dish on the bill. Hopefully it’s just a pandemic related issues and decided to give an extra star due to covid times. Will try once more after Covid has settled. Summary: Definitely worth trying if you could close one eye on the service and support it through the pandemic.

Disappointed to see that Tenya didn’t have rave reviews but took my sister and brother-in-law there to try out their menu for their birthday dinner and could only fault that they were under staffed. The food was delicious. The sashimi, is fresh and tasty. Staff were friendly and helped with surprise birthday dessert. The cocktails are delicious and we all can’t wait to go back and try more food there. Would give 4.5 stars but can’t and I would still recommend this Japanese restaurant to friends because the venue, view and food is fantastic. Just understaffed. Highly recommend the beef tataki- delicious 🤤

Update August 2022Tempura is divine. Beautifully presented and done, every bite was great.March 2022Very well thought through menu. Great fresh ingredients. We had a 7pm dinner and the service was very fast and friendly. I would definitely order the seafood platter again as it it very diverse and great representation of various Japanese appetizers. Last but not the least is beef carpaccio!It is a upscale restaurant and that is exactly the experience it delivers on very well. I’d get a table outside to get a bit of a river breeze and nice views.P.S. Have to come back for the Black Cod which was divine.

I had a perfect anniversary dinner with milady at Tenya. The staff accomodate us very well. Mr. Stanley gave us 2 welcome drinks as we have our anniversary at the restaurant, that’s very attentive. I tried to find the best sushi in Brisbane for 2 years and now i found it. Thank you very much!

Excellent food and amazing view! They know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. Definitely fine dining. Everything we tasted melted in other mouths. Absolutely the best meal we had while in Brisbane. Love this place and will continue to visit. Highly recommended.
