The food was so good. Great vegetarian and kids options alongside more traditional favourites and the best chocolate cake I’ve ever had. Chef’s grandmothers recipe I heard. Great service, nice atmosphere. 👍

Crikey! What a great find. This pub’s food is fantastic. The menu has variety and covers most dietary requirements. There are fish dishes, meat dishes, vegan options and even serves pie and mash. A dish that I rarely see on menus now. Although I didn’t have the latter dish, my mate, who is a pie connoisseur, did dabble and assured me it was worth it. Equally, the lamb dish I tried was a good size and packed full of discernable flavours. The venue was large and had plenty of areas to dine, along with the traditional bar area to drink at. The staff were pleasant and table service was quick. All-in-all The Lord Anson served up a wonderful experience at a reasonable cost.

A nice spot for a low key meal and local wine. Steaks were great, tender and cooked perfectly. Staff lovely – recommend booking for dinner.

Friendly service and great atmosphere. No major downsides as I saw. Food was good, and portion sizes were good with a selection of regional beers on tap.Rocked up (5 of us) with no booking, as we hadn’t planned ahead and they still rolled out the welcome.Recommend.
