A great dinner. We had the tasting plate which also came with two glasses of wine. Absolutely cooked to perfection. Highly recommend this restaurant. They made us delicious toblerone cocktails even though not on the menu. Everytime we stay in Dunsborough we male sure we have a meal and enjoy the cocktails here.

One of the best meals we have had at a restaurant. Cheesy garlic toast was crispy and piping hot. I had the char grilled steak which was melt in the mouth while my wife went for the seafood papardelle which was delicious. All the food arrived on hot plates so there was no risk of our food getting cold. Will definitely be back.

Great nightly specials – short rib coconut curry fritters were incredibly delicious and great portion! Recommend the 1 scoop ice cream – gorgeous presentation for the price. Staff very attentive but allowed us to enjoy our meal in peace. Excellent recommendation on the bottle of Pinot noir. Plus lovely resort setting 🙂

We stayed at this resort last year and had a great experience with the accommodation, so we decided to visit the restaurant on our most recent trip down south and were extremely disappointed. This is overwhelmingly the worst service we have experienced anywhere in Australia. Although there were two staff looking after a restaurant that never had more than 10 guests at any stage, we had to leave our table on four separate occasions to order a drink, had to walk to the front counter to get a dessert menu – and when the wrong dessert eventually found its way to out table, we had to return to the cake display with the waitress to physically point out the dessert that was ordered. Comically, when the icecream that was included with our dessert didn’t come out – we had to place a separate order and were charged for a third dessert which was very frustrating. We then placed an order for a Jamieson Whiskey at the bar, and the server returned asking us if we ordered a Jagermeister and by this point we were so exasperated that we decided to leave. When it came time to pay, we gave our server a gift voucher and they said that if we wanted the change/credit from the voucher we should email the hotel the following day to organise. To be fair it would be a huge waste of time to even bother.

After many years of hit-and-miss at Toby’s, we’ve finally got a chef to brag about and a wait-team that handles front-of-house efficiently and jovially.For entree we shared a mildly spicy calamari that got the taste buds tingling in anticipation. My wife had the seafood parpadelle which she described as “perfectly cooked pasta and seafood in a delicious smooth, creamy sauce”. I had the short ribs which were melt-in-the-mouth and tasty served with an array of delicious sides and a creamy sauce base. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole meal and made the most of the fireside between courses. It was the highlight of our stay.
